Shillong Building Centre
Shillong Building Centre was setup by MUDA through GOI grant from HUDCO in 1994. The centre is located at Polo Market. The Building Centre has received Rs. 4.00 lakhs and fully utilised the grant and subsequently received an amount of Rs. 3.50 lakhs Kfw grant out of the sanctioned amount of Rs. 8.40 lakhs for construction of New Building -cum-Production Centre at New Shillong Township at Mawdiangdiang. There are few project taken up by the Building Centre like the construction of 42 units of Sweeper Housing at Goodwood, Falls View, Glaunaut and Lumpyngngad. Two units of Grade IV Quarter at Urban Affairs Departmental Complex, Dhankheti. Some Toilet Blocks were also constructed at Laban Market and Parking Lot at Mawlong Hat. All these projects were constructed using Low Cost Construction Technology. The centre has also taken up construction of low cost alternate building materials.
